What to Expect: Day 1: Arrive at the main base, where you’ll meet your guide and get an overview of the week’s adventure. After a safety briefing, gear check, and introductions to the team, take a scenic flight or boat ride into the remote Holitna River camp. Settle into your cabin, enjoy a welcome dinner prepared by the camp cook, and review the upcoming days with your guide, discussing fishing goals, species of interest, and river conditions. Day 2: Kick off the adventure with a full day on the Holitna River, targeting King, Silver, or Red Salmon, depending on the season. Your guide will take you to the best spots for these prized catches, offering tips on technique whether you're fly fishing or using conventional tackle. Break for a riverside lunch, then continue fishing the afternoon, returning to camp by evening to relax, enjoy a hearty meal, and share stories from the day. Day 3-4: Explore new sections of the Holitna and its tributaries, focusing on rare species like Sheefish, Arctic Char, and Grayling. Your guide will tailor each outing based on fish patterns and water conditions, maximizing your chances at each unique species. Spend evenings in camp, where you can unwind, swap stories with fellow anglers, and savor Alaska-inspired meals prepared by the cook.
